My storytelling career started at an early age
when I, a fair-skinned redhead, attempted to convince my classmates that I was an Indian Princess.

In my defense, there is Cherokee in my lineage
and my mother had told me that my great
grandfather was a Cherokee chief.  Now, if my grandmother had married a Cherokee, and my mother had married a Cherokee, I would have
been an Indian Princess.  All I heard was I was
an Indian Princess!  Hey, I was an imaginative
four year-old; isn't that what every four year-
old girl dreams of?

Unfazed by this initial failure, I continued to spin tales about majestic castles, fierce warriors and damsels in distress.  So writing romance was a logical progression for me.

I'm occasionally drawn from my fantasy world when my husband calls for the "Caulk Master," "Tile Master," "Paint Master," or any other master of a task he doesn't want to do in our home reno-vations.

But I suppose it's only fair since I turned to him when I started writing my first book, Sixpence Bride. He gave me a male perspective, which was quite an eye-opening experience!  With my second book, Spenceworth Bride, he simply asked questions that made me think in a difference direction.  And then he came up with the idea for A Blast to The Past.  So, I guess we're even and I'll remain the "Master of Renovations" and he'll be the first reader of my stories, (even though he doesn't read romance!).

My passion for writing has led me to another passion . . . period gowns.  When writing my very first book, I couldn't find any information on what the clothing of the time felt like.  And since it was a time travel, I decided the only way to find out what it was like to wear gowns of another century was to make one.  Well, one led to another, and then another, and then another.  I'm working on a sideless gown, circa the fourteenth century.  Look for a picture in the near future.

As passionate as I am about writing, I also enjoy reading and talking about romance.  So, don't be shy, drop me a line and tell me what you're reading.
